中元節的英文有好幾種說法：
Ghost Feati­val #鬼節
Hun­gry Ghost Fes­ti­val #餓鬼節
Chi­nese Ghost Fes­ti­val #華人鬼節

而 #中元普渡 可以用中文直接翻譯成Jhongyuan Pudu，或是Jhongyuan Gen­er­al Sal­va­tion Ceremonies，其他相關的單字有：

1️⃣農曆七月 The sev­enth lunar month
2️⃣鬼月 Ghost Month
3️⃣普渡 Putu
4️⃣禁忌 taboo
5️⃣孤魂野鬼 wan­der­ing ghosts
